NEW TIE TOP AND NEW FINDS!

Hi my sweeties!
I only have time for a quick post today, got loads
to do in the garden after dinner so I don't have the
time to sit here and blog the evening away.

I have totally forgot to post a picture of my latest
tie top, this one is made for one cool chick named
Clare, who I will have the pleasure to meet at the
Screamin' Festival in Spain next week!

And here's my latest finds.
I picked these two cool items up at the same charity
shop where I got the black and white bangle earlier
this week.

Straw clutch, £1.

Straw box, 50 pence.

REVAMPED BEACH BAG

Still going strong by the sewing machine.
Thought I'd post pictures of my revamped beach bag
while I have my coffee break.
I bought this shmatteh beach bag in a charity shop in
Golders Green earlier this year and it's been laying in
my "to do pile" ever since but I finally finished it today.
I just removed the tacky fabric and rope and replaced
it with something that goes much better with most of
my summer/beach wear.

FINDS!

I'm stuck by the sewing machine today.
Have loads of stuff to do before I leave for Spain
on Sunday but I really enjoy it.

I forgot to post my Hemsby finds earlier today!

Earrings, £3.

Bag, £3.

This has nothing to do with what I got at Hemsby
but it is my very latest find and I thought I'd post
it as well...
I found this bangle in my favorite local charity shop
this morning. I popped in after my swimming session
to give them tons of stuff that didn't sell at the boot
sale.
The two ladies at the counter admired my waist and
said that they used to have one in the 1950's. :))

Bangle, 50 pence.

THE HEN NIGHT CREATIONS

I'm back after a long terrible weekend in Hemsby.
This was hopefully my last Hemsby ever!
It was way too cold, too much bloody drama, bad
sound, crappy bands and so on...
Spent a total of £6 the entire weekend and I didn't
drink a single drop of alcohol.
Didn't make as much on the boot sale as I wished
but at least I got spending money for Screamin'.
I do sound like a very boring person, don't I?

Anyway, it was very nice to see Elaine again and I
think she liked my hen night gift.
I found this cute lady monkey at a boot sale and I
knew then and there that I wanted to turn her into
a pirate, with an outfit that matched mine.

I got my outfit for under £1!
I made the skirt out of a little girl's dress I got at a
boot sale for 20 pence, the white top was 50 pence
and the sword 10 pence, also from a boot sale.
My eye patch was made out of scrap material.
I already had the corset and boots in my closet so I
don't put them into count.

Elaine was totally stunning!
Wish she had the hat on in this picture.

Here's the monkey! Isn't she cute?!
I made it all myself, the sword was made out of tin
foil and black duck tape.

OFF TO HEMSBY!

OK, I'm off to Hemsby rock n' roll weekender!
I'm really looking forward to see my friends, Elaine's
hen night, jive myself silly and hopefully get rid off a
lot of stuff at the rockabilly boot sale on Sunday.
And snag a few finds myself of course!
Wish me luck!

POST NO. 500!

I've been very busy today, finished a present for my
sweet girl Elaine's hen night that's on Friday and also
the costume for the evening, the theme is pirate girls.
I will post pictures of these creations after Hemsby
rock n' roll weekender, I know that Elaine does read
my blog and I do not want to spoil the surprise.

I finished a couple of skirts last week that I made out
of little girl's dresses.
Unfortunately I didn't take any before pictures but I
hope that doesn't matter too much.
My favorite is the blue gingham skirt, I made the two
heart shaped pockets myself.

And I got a little present in the post today!
Sweet Ulrika sent me this really cool brooch, I can't
describe in words how much I love it.
Thank you so much!

without much effort or cost.

TODAY'S FINDS!

You won't believe how much stuff I got home today!
The sky was very gray this morning and there was a
few drops of rain and freezing cold but that didn't stop
us from going to two car boot sales.
I was lucky to get my hands on 8 meters of a stunning
yellow vintage Chinese fabric, some flamenco dolls and
a few pieces of clothing and loads more.
What you see is just a fraction of what I got today!

Vintage Mexican handbag, 30 pence.
This is my favorite find of the day, I love it!

1960's suitcase, 50 pence.
Perfect condition! Perfect for storage and short vacations!

Naughty 1960's Playboy cartoon album, £0.
I got this for free from the nice lady I bought the vintage
Chinese fabric from.
The 8 meter fabric cost me £1!!!

Swanky 1950's shot glasses, 50 pence.
I love the pattern on these!

1950's thermometer, 50 pence.
This goes perfect with all our nautical stuff in the lounge!

Vintage Lucite earrings, 50 pence.
1950's watch, £1.
Don't know if the watch works, I just couldn't resist!

VE DAY

We wanted to celebrate VE Day by doing something
we both enjoy, road trips and scout for finds!
Since the weather was bad and our favorite Saturday
car boot sale was cancelled we decided to have a look
for jumble/church sales in the area.
We were a bit last minute so we only had time for one
church sale and then we went to my favorite vintage
store to have a look around.

You know me, I rarely come home empty handed.
This is the finds of the day...

1950's kitchen steps, £12. (136 Kr, $17.70, €14)
I've wanted one for so long and this one is just perfect!
Managed to haggle it down from £20.

1950's mini suitcase, 50 pence. (5.50 Kr, $0.70, €0.60)
This is so cool and I guess pretty unusual design.

1950's knitting patterns, 10 pence each. (1 Kr, $0.15, €0.10)
I'm a sucker for novelty motifs.

1950's earrings, 25 pence. (2.80 Kr, $0.35, €0.30)
Totally cute! I'm an earring addict.

1950's lipstick case, £2.50. (28 Kr, $3.70, €2.90)
I think this case might be pretty rare.
I'm gonna clean it and replace the fuchsia with a red lipstick.
It's too pretty not to be used!

1950's necklace, £3.50. (39 Kr, $5, €4)
This is adorable! Look how cute the beads are!

TOO BUSY!

I'm totally hopeless!
I've been so utterly busy lately and I don't like it
when I can't spare five minutes for my blog or for
yours too more importantly.

I've been sorting through my wardrobe and my
shoes collection and even sorted up on the loft.
I now have tons to sell on Hemsby boot sale next
week.
I will however let you, my dear readers, get the
opportunity to buy my stuff too.
I started a new blog yesterday where I will sell
my shoes to begin with.
I will try to post stuff on there as soon as I can!

I don't really have anything more to say, other
than here's some bits I picked up at a boot sale
on Monday.

1950's necklaces, 50 pence each. (5 Kr, $0.75, €0.60)

1950's brooch, 50 pence. (5 Kr, $0.75, €0.60)

1950's porcelain earrings, 50 pence. (5 Kr, $0.75, €0.60)

Old atomizer, 50 pence. (5 Kr, $0.75, €0.60)

Bike horn, 40 pence. (4 Kr, $0.60, €0.45)

Oh yeah! I lost another kilo and I now have a lovely
23 inch waist! :D

NOT MUCH BUT...

Sorry about the lack of posts, I've been very busy with
some projects this week.
I've been slacking off for a while and it was about time
I finished what I've started.

I started swimming yesterday, I'm not very good at it
but I do my best, at least it's very good exercise.
I measured myself this morning and I only have a few
millimeter until my waist is 23 inches. Can't wait!

And of course I went to a car boot sale this morning!
It was sunny but there was a lot of dark clouds in the
sky so there wasn't many sellers that dared to set up
so therefore not many finds.
These are my favorites though...

LP's, 50 pence each. (5.50 Kr, $0.80, €0.60)
It's not often I buy records at boot sales nowadays but I
just couldn't resist The Cramps for that price!

Pink gingham top, £1. (11 Kr, $1.50, €1.15)
This top is soo cute on, I need to take a pic of me wearing
it when I washed it!

Bangle, 50 pence. (5.50 Kr, $0.80, €0.60)
This will go perfect with my bamboo bangles!
