SUE'S BIRTHDAY BASH

Two weeks ago me and my little family went to our dear friend
Sue Kreitzman's birthday party.
In her honor I made this gold lurex outfit for Dixon.
She loved it and said it was her favorite birthday present. :D

I got myself a little present, the mermaid necklace around my
neck, made by Sue, of course.

Here's some pictures from the evening.

STUFF AND THINGS

It's been a while!
Life as a new mother has been great so far, except getting a depression
after I had to stop breastfeeding. I'm still really blue but I'm not letting it
take over my daily life.

What else? Oh, I don't know, not much to tell really.
Here's a few things from the last two weeks...

I managed to snag two Cowichan sweaters recently for a really decent price.
One for me and one for Dixon. £11.50 (approx. $18) and £5 (approx. $8).

Revamped one of my belts the other day.

This handsome fella turned 6 months today!
I can't believe the time passes by this fast!!!

And a couple of selfies with Dixon for good measure. ;)

LUSEKOFTE

UK turned damp and cold all of a sudden.
Last week it was 21C and sunny where I live!
I started to change my wardrobe around today and
I had a happy reunion with this Lusekofte* of mine.

A SELFIE

I rarely post so called selfies on here but today calls for one.
I love my three mermaid wigs but I rarely use them so today I
decided to cut bangs on one of them and I love how it turned
out! (Here's a before pic.)
It was quite tricky and it isn't perfect but for what scissors and
little patience I got nowadays it as good as it gets. LOL!
I feel like a mermaid Bettie or something. :D

Hello.

PERFECT MATCH

I forgot to show you these amazing bangles I found in Spain!
They were deadstock and I got them for a song, absolutely a
perfect match to my purple Hawaiian dress!

This dress! :)
It's a 1950's dress, made in Hawaii for Sears.
Found in a charity shop for £5. (approx $7.45)

A SELFIE

Dressed like this to a BBQ today, it does look more
suitable for a classic pick-nick but who cares when
the sun is finally shining?

BACK HOME!

Hi there!
I've been away for a while.
Went to Screamin' Festival in Spain.
I had a good time until I got food poisoning during the
festival Saturday's evening event where I passed out
because of horrible stomach pains and puked all over
myself, ended up in an ambulance.
I felt so ashamed because people saw me do this and
might have thought I was a classless drunk twat.
(I didn't drink any alcohol at all that day.)
I missed all the bands I wanted to see that night and I
missed the last day of the festival. :(

Discovered that Rock n' Roll Holidays that we used
to go to back in the days was back after two years so
we had another half week of party.
We had a great time at the pool parties on the roof and
I rediscovered a song by Billy Fury that my dad used to
play when I was a kid that I loved.

Here's a few selfies and finds.

Had a pretty decent hair day on the festival Thursday.

Me and my man at the evening event on the festival Thursday.

Managed to get me a nice tan after the festival was over.

Me and my man at the pool party.

Found these beauties in our hidden gem in Calella.
It’s a little charity shop (goodwill) where we managed to
find some neat stuff over the years.
Got the peach 1960’s peignoir for €2 (= $2.65/£1.70) and
the black 1950’s dress for €5 (= $6.70/£4.25).

This carved Bakelite bangle arrived from Ireland while I was in Spain.
(Won this on eBay for £11.50 = approx $18.)

And these two marbled Bakelite bangles arrived from the Czech Republic.
My postman was SO NICE to hold them for me since they were too large
to deliver so they wouldn't be sent back.
(Won them on eBay, the green bangle was £12.70 = approx $20 and the
creamed corn bangle was £9.55 = approx $15.)

MY LIFE LATELY

No, I haven't forgot that I have a blog, I've just been busy.
Here's a few things that kept me busy.

I made this 1940's style lurex bikini out of an ugly tunic,
started this last year and finally got around to finish it.
Totally forgot to take a before picture.

My latest bag purchase.

Me before a gig.

Made this headpiece out of a sequin brooch that I got for
a song on Etsy.

Finally got around to turn these Bakelite clover leaves into
a pair of earrings!

Got this darling doll head in a junk shop in Prague and now
I turned him into a cute ring.

Some exotic earrings I've been working on.

MONDAY'S LOOT

Woke up early because the house were filled with sunshine,
perfect day for a car boot sale or two. And two we did.

We were supposed to go to the gym in the evening but we
assembled the BBQ and had a cookout and some ice cold
pear ciders instead. :))
(We'll go this morning tho.)

1980's shirt, £1. (= approx $1.55)
The bead embroidery, do I need to say more?

Kids jacket, £1. (= approx $1.55)
Love the pattern on this. So dapper.

1940's picnic basket, 50 pence. (= approx $0.75)
I had one of these when I was a kid but it got thrown away
when people cleared our house after my mom passed.

1950's novelty bottle opener in teak, 25 pence.
(= approx $0.38)
How could I resist this fella?!
You take his head off and there you have the bottle opener.

Amazing capri pants, 35 pence. (= approx $0.55)
I rarely take photos of the clothes I find because they are
often wrinkly and such, in this case I make an exception
because these capris makes my bum look good and the
color is amazing!

Feather thingy, 20 pence. (= approx $0.30)
I'm gonna attach a hair clip to this and use it in one of my OTT
hair styles for a special occasion.

Shell bracelet, 50 pence. (= approx $0.75)
Carved bangle, 50 pence. (= approx $0.75)
Vintage Spanish brooch, 75 pence. (= approx $1.15)
2 yellow bangles, 25 pence. (= approx $0.38)
I really love the juicy colors of the yellow bangles and the brooch
will be the perfect thing with most of my Latin styled outfits.

LP with a cool cover, free.
If it has got a fruit hat I love it!

Vintage pineapple dessert bowls, 2 large & 6 small, £2.
(= approx $3.10)
OMG! OMG! OMG!

GOOD HAIR DAY

I thought it was about time I show my face around here. ;)
This is what I look like today.

Hello!

I really love my hair today!

Matching everything! Bakelite bangles, earrings and jacket.

EAR TREATS

I rarely make anything for myself nowadays, so when I finally
found some supplies that I've been having on my wish list for
ages and they actually had a fair price I thought it was about
time I treated myself!

I know the color dots is a bit on the large size for the palette
but I used what I got in my craft boxes and IRL the colors are
really vibrant.
I also used old buttons as the dome on the earring post.

And my big idol, Sue Kreitzman, said this about these earrings:
"Just fabulous!" and that means the world to me. :)

I don't think I ever posted this picture of me and Sue.
It's from her amazing Dare To Wear exhibition in the crypt
of St Pancras Church, Euston, London, in October 2012.
I look like a crazy person. :))

ANOTHER GOOD HAIR NIGHT

Happy Passover/Easter!
As you know I don't like having my photo taken but
my hair looked good last night so I thought I give you
another ego picture.

LAST NIGHT

My handsome man and your truly last night at the Si Cranstoun
gig in central London.
Rocking the bumper bangs at the moment since my hair is way
too long for curls and I refuse to cut it, I'm a mermaid at heart.
Flowers overload is a must since spring is nowhere to be seen.
