NOSE ART

Here's another 1940's tie top.
I finished it last night and it turned out pretty nice.
I really love this fabric, mostly because I have a soft
spot for WW2 military air-crafts and nose art.
It must have arisen after my dad took me to vintage
aircraft shows as a little girl.

Pinup's were a very common form of nose art.

I got two WW2 planes with nose art tattooed on my
right sleeve, they are not very well done so pleeease
spare me your negative comments. :))
(The guy was a friend and an apprentice.)

HARD TO RECOVER

OK, I'm sorry, I'm too tired today too.
Seems like it takes forever for me to recover from the flu and
all the traveling. The smallest task feels too huge right now.

I've been to the tattooist today.
I only have one sitting left but I'm gonna wait until all the up-
coming Jewish high holidays are over before I have it finished.
It's getting there...

I can tell you one thing that happened while I was in Spain I
fell in love. In a French Bulldog that is.
Now I want both a Bull Terrier and a French Bulldog. *smirk*
(Still haven't found THE Bull Terrier at the re-homing sites.)

YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT...

I'm so sore and so tired.
I've been sewing all morning and did a new sitting at
the tattooist this afternoon.
My plan for tonight, if I wasn't too tired, was to put
up some new goodies on Tradera.
I don't wanna sound too cocky but I know for a fact
that some of you will really like my recent creations.
Oh well, guess you'll have to wait until tomorrow...

I got myself this awesome t-shirt for only £8 today,
it's so sweet and it reminds me a bit of Kool Aid.

HARD AS NAILS

We didn't finish the entire tattoo today, he had only booked me
up for two hours so I'm going back for more ink on Friday.
The tattooist thought I was hard as nails, a really good sitter.
I had a lot of practice over the years, my longest sitting was
8 hours.

I've been offered a job.
All I can say is that it's a webzine who is highly uncensored
and in your face, much like the magazine VICE.
My journalist skills are limited to a certain tattoo magazine,
the school paper and blogging for years here and there.
This zine insist and I don't think I can say no.
I only live once and I want to accomplish as much as possible
as long as it's creative.

RASCAL - THE TATTOOED LADY

In about 2 hours I will become even more colorful!
I'm finally gonna finish my Phecock (my bird looks like a
cross between a Peacock and a Phoenix).

When I got my first tattoo at the age of 16 my dad went
crazy and said that it's only bums, prostitutes and sailors
who got tattoos. OK, so I guess I'm a sailor then! *smirk*

What my dad and many others like him doesn't realize is
that collectors of tattoos often see them as an art form.
Some hang their art on the wall, I chose to wear mine.
My maternal grandfather was a sailor and he had a huge
ship in one of his arms and a sunset on his wrist and ever
since I can remember I wanted to have tattoos like his.
And now I can't get enough...

Tattooed ladies isn't a new thing.
Just look at Artoria Gibbons, she was one of the most
popular tattooed ladies (there's several of them actually)
who had her entire body tattooed.
The artist of her tattoos was her husband, Red Gibbons.



Thought:
Could the song "Lydia the Tattooed Lady" from the
Marx Brothers movie "At the Circus" been a tribute to
Artoria?

MAMA'S GOTTA BRAND NEW BAG

Today I got my thumb out and booked an appointment
to finally finish one of my tattoos that I started back in
early 2006.
It's a pretty bird who looks like a mix between a Phoenix
and a Peacock.
There used to be two pinups but they are covered with a
huge plume.
I'm happy to have it done before we go to Spain 3 weeks
later, perfect healing time as well.

The day has been great.
We went to a small town not far from where we live and
we ended up going to a charity shop to give away stuff.
I found two vintage dresses that was on sale, one of them
is a blue evening gown that Marilyn Monroe would have
loved, that one I'm gonna keep for myself and it only cost
me £1!!!
I also found a very nice and pretty rare 1950's handbag in
perfect condition and in a brown metallic outfit.
It cost £10 but I managed to haggle it down to £8.50,
I told the manager that I given the store a whole bag of
stuff and that I also bought two dresses and asked if she
could lower the price for me. *smirk*
My man ended up giving it to me as a present.

GIRLIE TATTOOS

I'm up early, planning my new tattoos.
I'm about to finish my left sleeve but there's some small
girlie things I want to put in between all the roses, spider
web and butterflies before the background comes on.
But first I need to finish the tail on my Phoecock.
(He looks like a mix between a Phoenix and a Peacock).
I want ladybugs, bumble bees, diamonds, a Mexican sugar
skull (to go with my Mexican rose) and maybe a cute
green caterpillar, the background is gonna be a rainbow,
I just can't get enough of colors.
The one and only Kapten Hanna is the one I want to do
the honors and she's coming to London in September!
