Woke up at 06:50 this morning, sun was shining so we decided
to go to two local car boot sales, as you do when the weather is
nice and the cravings for a bargain is at its peak.
Here's my favorite items of the day.
Bangles, 50 pence each. (Approx $0.75 each)
Yes, of course, more bangles. ;)
1950's car blanket, £1.50. (Approx $ 2.20)
Can't get enough of these. I love the pattern!
1950's Native American style corduroy jacket, £1.
(Approx $1.50)
SO AMAZING!!! It needs another wash or two but it's
otherwise in good condition.
Back
Tag
1950's novelty glass, 10 pence. (Approx $0.15)
So cool. :D
A shirt for my man, £2.50. (Approx $3.70)
If it has pineapples on it it's meant to be worn by him.
Close up
The buttons are so cool with the tiny palm trees!
Vintage wooden pineapple dish, £1. (Approx $1.50)
I got a few of these now but I can't walk passed them. ;))

STAG SET
As much as I hate to spend money on YMCA I just couldn’t
resist this set!
I already got a lot of these glasses in different sizes but a set
of 6 glasses and a decanter for £5 is nothing I leave behind.
(Made in Italy during the 1950’s)

FINDS, FINDS FINDS!
WOW! Guess who finally had time and peace of mind
to blog about some recent and not so recent finds.
I haven't done this in a while so therefore plenty of pics.
I will try and post my latest clothing finds soon too!
This bunch are from the Friday antique market and a
few local charity shops.
Click on the images for a better view.
Trinket boxes 10 pence and 75 pence.
I'm always in need of cute trinket boxes, I got no more room on
my vanity nowadays so I have to drill up a shelf this weekend.
Old doll, 25 pence.
She looks so 1930's in her cute little outfit! :)
I'm on the hunt for another shadow box to put her in.
Bangles, 50 pence each.
I'm a bangleholic, I just can't say no, there's always an
outfit that requires at least one of these. :))
1960's jewellery box, £3.99.
A bit more than I usually spend but this one was roomy
and the brocade sure hit the spot!
Old Bambi vase, £1.
He had a glued leg but who cares, he's SO cute!
A bunch of 1950's plastic tulips, 25 pence.
Something else I already got plenty of but not in this color.
Hey, nothing says spring as well as tulips, plastic or not.
Old hat, £3.
I should give this one a good clean and change the ribbon, I'm not
so keen on the mustard color to be honest. Love the berries tho!
1950's jewellery set in original box, 25 pence.
I can't resist stuff in their original box!
This set looks like it's never been used.
Pyrex Gaiety Snowflake dishes, £1 for the set.
I do need a lid for the round one, might find one at work.
JAJ Pyrex June Rose dishes, £1.75 for the set.
It's so frustrating when they don't come with a lid but for that price
I'm not just gonna leave them for someone else to snag. :P
Vintage tins, £5 for the set.
A must for my hobby room!
Cute vintage bottle, £1.
I were thinking "future kid's room" for some reason...
Vintage repro ashtray, 25 pence.
These were a copy of the 1950's atomic ashtrays and they were
reproduced in the 1980's.
1950's jug/vase, £3.
Me and my fella love music themed stuff and I got this as a
Valentines gift for us. Might sound dumb but so be it. :))
1950's glasses, £1 for the set.
I can't count how many times I said "no more glasses" but I never
really listen to myself when I see something nice like these.

THRIFT-O-RAMA
Third day off, well off is not the right word, today is cleaning
and laundry day. Also have a few things I want to list in my
Etsy shop but the light is terrible so I doubt the photos will
come out right.
Miss Tallulah Porkchop said a few days ago: "I don't know
where you find the time to work between all the thrifting."
Well, since I work in a charity shop that specialize in vintage
and retro it does make it pretty easy.
We go to the antique market (that's located about 50 meter
from our shop) one hour before we open so we have time to
scout, both for ourselves and for the shop.
We also get to pull stuff from one of the other branches so I
often find stuff that I want to adopt.
This is what I snagged last Friday at the antique market.
Vintage bra, £1.50.
1950's/1960's knitted lurex top, £1.50.
1960's stainless steel plate, 10 pence.
Big 1960's tray, £2.
1950's/1960's plates, 10 pence each.
1950's glasses, £5.
1950's vase, £1. 1960's thermometer, £1.

UPDATE FROM BED
Hi friends!
I think I live in the messiest house on earth!
This is because of the so called handymen that was
supposed to have finished our loft on Thursday but
hasn't been around since Tuesday!!! I'm now really
pissed off, I can't stand mess and disorder, it makes
me cringe. I must admit, I'm not at all OCD when it
comes to housework but I do like it tidy and clean.
Not much else since last post...
Yeah, speaking about post, I have a ton of stuff I'm
waiting for (eBay bargains) but no one seams to be
too bothered about going to the post office to make
sure this prompt paying gal get her stuff!!! :(
Sorry, I'm just utterly bored and really need some
cheering up right now.
I haven't done anything fun for weeks, well, I can't.
I have managed a few walks with my man and I've
been to my GP, who gave me some new meds and
a referral to see a neurologist.
I'm cleaning my computer today, I'm a hoarder of
pictures and inspirational things and some things
have ended up in wrong folders.
Here's a photo I found that was supposed to end
up in this blog a while ago, it was quite neat at the
time because I found these French glasses in one
of the local charity shops for £1 (it was a lot of 5)
and they just happened to match my nail polish
and my cherryaid. :)
My man went to a car boot sale, I'm SO jealous!
The anticipation is high, I hope he got some really
neat stuff.
I'm gonna try and walk down the stairs and fix me
some lunch. Ta-ta!

MORE FINDS
Hello!
Yesterday morning was supposed to be a morning of
sleep because my man had been gigging two nights in
a row, yeah right, my man woke me up around 7 AM
and asked if I wanted to go vintage hunting, he couldn't
sleep. I was dead tired because I was working on new
fascinator hats way past midnight but I managed to get
up and make coffee.
Must say we scored big time, again.
At the first car boot sale I ended up diving into boxes
because this was stuff after someones nan, and this nan
was a lady of my taste.
Here's just a few of the things I got yesterday, click on
the images for a better view.
Lurex dresses, 50 pence each.
These might look pretty dull but when they are on they look
really amazing. They hug the curves and sparkle like the stars
at night.
Very wide elastic belt, 50 pence.
This is really my cup of tea. Back in the days I was wearing
a corset every day of the week and I kind of miss it so this
is a quite neat substitute.
Hats, 50 pence each.
1950's/1960's. From the nan I mentioned earlier.
I might revamp the white and the yellow slightly because
the ribbons isn't really my thing.
Huge suitcase, £1.
Late 1960's. Useful for storing my vintage fabrics.
Carved bangle, free.
Not vintage but still very nice, my kind of colors.
Old novelty mug, 50 pence.
1950's. This is actually my second one, this one got some
color missing on her hair but I don't mind at all.
Easy to fix, if I wanted to.
From the nan.
Glasses and shot glasses, £1.80 for the lot.
1960's, French. I couldn't resist...
Also from the cool nan.
Teak cheese fork holder, 30 pence.
1950's/1960's. From the nan.
This is quite morbid actually, it looks like spears through his
back, like on a bull fight, but I'm weak for teak and this piece
is quite unusual.
Canape sticks, 50 pence.
1960's. Anyone have any cool vegetarian canape ideas?
Bar staff, 50 pence.
1960's teak, never used. From the nan.
Check out the awesome box!

FINDS GALORE
Hello again my dear readers!
It's been a while. I've been so awfully busy this week.
My biggest achievement must have been the big closet
clear out. Might not sound like a big deal to you but it
took me the entire day and it was a major pain in the
rear.
I now got more of a clue what I've got and I did a bit
of color coordination, before the clear out I couldn't find
anything and it totally stressed me out!
(I guess this is what happens when cute stuff only cost
between 10 pence and up to a few pounds.)
Well, there's still no room but there's less of a mess.
To be honest, I got dresses hanging here and there in
the house because they can't fit in the main closet but
I did clear what not longer suit my age and nowadays
a bit more sophisticated style.
The house is a tip at the moment because I've also been
busy crafting. I do however always keep the kitchen
tidy. My task of the evening is to tidy and clean while
my man is out gigging.
I'm gonna leave the back door open so I can listen to
the bands at the Sonisphere festival.
Last night I could hear Metallica loud and clear while I
was making hair flowers. :)
Hope you like my new header by the way. :)
OK, enough of the boring part of my life.
You might been wondering why last Sunday's finds never
got blogged about, (I honestly hope you got better things
to do) well, here they are, together with yesterday's and
today's finds.
And as usual, these are just a few of the many things I
got my hands on. Click on the images for a larger view...
TODAY'S FINDS
Bag, 50 pence.
1970's. I will adorn this bag with some plastic fruit.
Glasses, 20 pence each.
1950's/1960's French glasses. Like I said last week, I need more
vintage bar ware as I need a hole in the head but I just can't help
myself when it's so cheap and oh so cute.
Buttons, 40 pence for the lot.
A girl can never have too many vintage buttons.
Brooch, £1.
1950's/1960's. Couldn't resist the pink thermoset.
Necklace, 50 pence.
1960's. It's missing a clasp but I do have tons of them so
it's a five second fix. This necklace will go perfect with the
cooler we got in Sweden last summer.
Scarves, 40 pence for the lot.
1950's/1960's. I already got tons of these but not in these
colors and patterns, perfect for a bad hair day.
YESTERDAY'S FIND
2 barkcloth panels, £4.
1960's, perfect condition.
Too short and too narrow to use as curtains but my plan is
to make tote bags and use my vintage bamboo handles, like
the barkcloth bag I revamped the other day.
LAST SUNDAY'S FINDS
Totally kitchy lamp, 50 pence.
1950's/1960's. This lamp got everything I love, plastic flowers,
wicker and coziness! It looks like this when it's lit in the evening.
Clamper, 50 pence.
I guess this is very old. The lady I bought it from was really
old and she got it when she was young.
I always ask for a little story behind the items, if they've got
one, the old people love that I ask.
It's in very good condition and it's one of my top five favorite
jewelry.
Another view of the clamper. I love the details, so stunning.
Knitting patterns, £1 for the lot.
1950's/1960's. These are the ones I'll keep for myself.
It's my "carrot" for learning how to knit.
Holt Howard kitty string holder, 50 pence.
1950's. Not in the best condition but I still love it.
This is my second one, the first one were a birthday gift from
my mother in law last year.
Wicker lampshade, 30 pence.
Not vintage and not used as a lampshade, as you can see.
This was one of my brilliant ideas, yes, I do think this looks so good.
Bamboo shaving mirror, 50 pence.
1960's. I can't resist wicker and bamboo, I just can't.
Bag, £2.50.
Here in it's revamped glory. It looked like this when I got it.
Jacket, £2.
New and absolutely faaaaab!
Skirt, £1.
1970's. Very pinup. :))
This skirt goes perfect with this sweater and these shoes.
Or why not with a black top and these shoes?
Victoria's Secret bustier, £2.
1980's. I'm really looking forward to a burlesque event so
I can wear this with really high heels, tight wiggle skirt and
one of my handmade hats.
Close-up.
