ALL SET!

All set for autumn and winter!
I’ve had these on my wishlist for 3 years but didn’t want to
spend £80 ($130) and support sweatshop labor (first hand
so to speak).
It sure was worth the wait, I snagged them on eBay for £10
($16).

TODAY'S FINDS

My man set the alarm on car boot sale this morning.
It was cold and I really didn't fancy getting out of bed but the
thought of chocolate cheesecake with my morning coffee and
possible bargains made it easier.

It turned out to be sunny and warm after a while, which was
really nice, unfortunately a lot of people left their brains and
manners at home.

Here's my favorite finds of the day:

1950's handbags, £3 each. (approx $4.60 each)
I tend to become a hardcore cheapskate at car boot sales but thinking
about it for a second, charity shops nowadays charge around £15 for
1950's handbags in not very good condition so I didn't want to leave
these beauties behind!

1950's heels, £1.50. (approx $2.30)
Leopard wedges, £1. (approx $1.55)
The heels are amazing! The wedges needs a bit of brushing up but I
wasn't looking to buy perfect or expensive.

1980's red leather shoe clips, 50 pence (approx $0.77)
1960's necklace, 10 pence (approx $0.15)
1950's belt, 50 pence (approx $0.77)
Super happy about the shoe clips, I got vintage gloves in the same
shade and that will look amazing together, I decided to be a bit more
glam this autumn and winter.

Bangle, 75 pence. (approx $1.15)
So pretty, will look perfect with an exotic dress.

1950's ring holder, £2. (approx $3)
Isn't he adorable?! I really needed another ring display/holder
and this one is beyond perfect because I have pink and green
stuff on my teak vanity.

1960's robe, £1. (approx $1.55)
I've planed for many years now to get rid of my ugly modern robe
but haven't found one, this one might do, I'm gonna give it a try.
If it get static or doesn't breathe it won't do.

LATEST EBAY

Here's the first items to arrive this year!
(Except craft supplies, that is.)
I had that top on my watch list for a very long time
until they reduced the price.

I also had the shoes on the list for a while and I was
umming and arring over getting them because the last
thing I need is another pair of shoes!

Pink 1960's lurex top, £2.50.

Transparent wedges, £11.

MAYBE?

I found this picture on Tumblr and maybe the designer
of my shoes got his/hers inspiration from this picture. :)
I will never find this out but it would be cool if it was.

IN THE POST TODAY

I love when the snail mail arrives!
Especially if I purchased something on eBay or Etsy. :)

Here's what arrived today:

H&M's Swedish Hasbeens, £19 on eBay.
Haven't really felt okay spending a heap load of money on
a pair of Swedish Hasbeens that you originally could snag
for £30 (all the clever fashionistas bought all of them back
then and sold them for way more than that) now the go for
£120 on eBay. Lotta from Stockholm does have reasonable
prices on her clogs but unfortunately more than I really want
to spend.
I was okay spending £19 on a pair, £20 was my limit. :))

Vintage colorful rattan bangle, $4.75, on Etsy.
It was too colorful to resist!!!

And it reminded me of one of the patio chairs seen in HBO's
mini-series Mildred Pierce. *silly nerd*

Hope you like my new banner, both in the blog and in my
Etsy shop. They sure needed a facelift!
I used the old Carlo of Hollywood frame as before and the
same artist behind the cats, Jim Flora.
In the text next to it I used the lyrics from two songs I really
like "Blue Black Hair" and "Brown Eyed Handsome Man".
(Since I got long blue black hair and my handsome man has
got brown eyes.)

BARGAIN OF THE DAY

Hi there!
I'm in Sweden and I'm having a really good time!
Seeing friends,  family, a lot of vintage cars and eating
a lot of yummy food and going to flea markets.
I don't really have a lot of time to blog but I have a few
minutes to spare for you and this is quite something to
blog about...

My favorite bargain of the day (I've made so many but
these are really awesome) two pairs of wonderful heels
from the 1940's for 10 kr for each pair.
(= 92 pence/$1.43/€1.18)

They can do with some cleaning but that have to wait,
I got people to see and not much time!
See you soon!!!

OUT OF IT

You know you’re out if it when you wake up at
1 AM and think you’re still in the hotel room in
Spain and wonder what the hell your laptop is
doing there since you left it at home.
It’s even worse when it takes you 2 minutes and
a stupid look on your face to realize that you’re
actually at home in your own bed.

 I need another vacation...
...or at least these shoes! ;)

You'll find them here.

ROCKIN' BETTE'S STYLE

Am I the only one who dislikes the new blogger compose page?
I don't like changes like the awful timeline on FB and now this!
I know change is good but it takes a bit getting used to and when
I blog I just want it to be simple. Is that too much to ask for?
Couldn't we at least have got to choose how we wanted it to be?

OK, enough with the rant...

I have my heart set on rocking the Bette Davis look this summer.
I finally found a pair of sunglasses that's quite similar to hers and
that also will suit me.
I've got a wig in that style and color that I could use if I want to.
I also got a pair of white shorts and white Palazzo trousers that I
can choose from depending on the weather.

Bette Davis

Here's some items that you've seen in this blog before that I can
use to accomplish this style:

These arrived today, eBay, £5.20.

Vintage Laura Ashley, car boot sale find for £1 back in May 09.
I just need to switch that navy blue ribbon to a red one.

Sailor wedges, gift from my man in August 09.

1950's wicker bag, £21 on eBay back in March 09.

YESTERDAY'S FINDS

Yesterday we got up early to go to the antique market
before opening the shop.
I was quite restless so I popped by Age UK to say hi to
my friend Flo and to go nuts rummaging through their
box of bangles. (Where I found 4.)
Afterwards I went to Halsey's Deli for a delicious egg n'
mayo sandwich (heaven) and then I scouted some of the
other charity shops in town.
After lunch all our volunteers came into the shop to say
goodbye and gossip. Better co-workers doesn't exist!

Today is the very last day before it turns into a normal
charity shop and it's also the last day for us, well, my
last day was yesterday but today is the last day for my
man. We're both happy not to work there anymore, let's
just say we weren't treated very well...

Anyway, here's what I managed to get my dirty paws on:

Boxed vintage Pyrex, 50 pence.
I’m super happy about this boxed, never used, Pyrex hostess
casserole with metal stand with a candle warmer.

Boxed vintage coffee maker, 50 pence.
This one is also never used. Don't know if it ever will be.

Set of 6 vintage mugs, 20 pence.
Nice and big and never used! They were in their original box
but it had mold
on it and that's nothing I want to keep.

18 part vintage atomic coffee set, £3.
This was a pure impulse buy, I think this might end up at the
Hemsby car boot sale next month.

Basket bag, £1.
Not that I need another bag but... Yeah.

Hardly ever worn Clarks, £3.
Super comfortable! These will go with most of my outfits fall/
winter/spring.

Bangle, 35 pence.

Bangle, 35 pence.

Bangle 35 pence.
This coconut bangle will be used frequently in Spain this year
along with my bamboo bangles.

Bangle, 35 pence.
You can't really tell it's carved with metal inlay.

IN THE POST TODAY

So much for the shoe stop!
I've got too many shoes for my own good that some of
the 90 litre boxes now moved up to the loft and I said
enough. What happens? Well, my lovely man has been
on eBay and bought two pair of lovely mules I had on
my watch list. Bless him. :))

SOME NEW THINGS...

Hi there! I'm bed bound today on my day off, worked a bit
too hard yesterday and every muscle in my body is aching.
No worries, I got my laptop and a whole bunch of craft to
fiddle with so I'm set. Need to rest up for the weekend, the
shop is manic on Fridays and Saturdays.

I've got me some new things lately.
It's been a while since I posted about clothing...

Wallet, 50 pence.
From a charity shop. Never used and slim, just what I wanted.

Vintage moc croc clutch, £2.
From a charity shop. Looks way better IRL. Very classy.

Toiletry case, £2.
From Primarks sale. Not that I need another one. :))

Gloves, £2. From Primarks sale.
Flats, 50 pence. From a charity shop. Never used.

Faux fur vest, 50 pence. From a charity shop.
Pinup style top, 50 pence. From a charity shop.

Lurex bolero, 50 pence.

I didn't have and I just love boleros.

Art deco style capelet, 50 pence.
From a charity shop. It's so stunning on, if I got the energy
I might pose for you. :)

MY BIRTHDAY GIFTS

Hi from bed!
I've had pizza for lunch, looking forward to the cheese -
cake and Champagne now.

My man really spoilt me rotten today.
Even tho the glitter lucite handbag arrived broken, the
SPA went bust and we're too ill to go to Brighton I must
say it has been a very nice day.

1950's lucite earrings.
I did wish for lucite bling with confetti...

1950's lucite clamper.
I didn't expect him to get me a matching set!

The most stunning shoes ever.
Totally dreamy, I really looking forward to summer now.

And same stunning shoes in another color! :D
Yes, I got the best guy ever!

Huge tea mug.
I've been looking for one for quite a while but never found one I
liked, this one is so cute!

Gold glitter calendar.
Really great for when I start working. :)
Since I'm nuts about gold lurex and lame' this suits my style perfectly.

I also got 100 gram of over priced salty liquorice.
