A SELFIE

I rarely post so called selfies on here but today calls for one.
I love my three mermaid wigs but I rarely use them so today I
decided to cut bangs on one of them and I love how it turned
out! (Here's a before pic.)
It was quite tricky and it isn't perfect but for what scissors and
little patience I got nowadays it as good as it gets. LOL!
I feel like a mermaid Bettie or something. :D

MY LIFE LATELY

No, I haven't forgot that I have a blog, I've just been busy.
Here's a few things that kept me busy.

I made this 1940's style lurex bikini out of an ugly tunic,
started this last year and finally got around to finish it.
Totally forgot to take a before picture.

My latest bag purchase.

Me before a gig.

Made this headpiece out of a sequin brooch that I got for
a song on Etsy.

Finally got around to turn these Bakelite clover leaves into
a pair of earrings!

Got this darling doll head in a junk shop in Prague and now
I turned him into a cute ring.

Some exotic earrings I've been working on.

ANOTHER GOOD HAIR NIGHT

Happy Passover/Easter!
As you know I don't like having my photo taken but
my hair looked good last night so I thought I give you
another ego picture.

GOOD HAIR NIGHT

Me before going out last night.
My kick ass cool diesel punk sunglasses arrived in the
post earlier in the day and I must say they looked ace
with my Blade Runner hairdo.

The dress was a gift from my friend Rebecca back in the
day, I revamped it from 1970's to 1940's back in 2010.

Hair flowers and the Bakelite ring are my own creations.

And a noir one, for the road.

NEW HAIR FLOWERS

Here's some hair flowers I've been making lately.
I hope the rockin' gals in Sweden will love these because
they are specially made for this trip.

I've been busy today baking, making relish, mowing the
back lawn, vacuuming the house and the car and I just
finished packing the car, all I need to do now is to pack
my clothes and a craft box and I can relax the rest of the
evening, we need to be up at 5 AM.
We're staying in Holland two days and then we're off to
Sweden. Can't wait!
I'm looking forward to see friends, family and hopefully
make new friends, eat myself silly and this year I want to
have a dip in the lake.

TO DELETE OR NOT DELETE...

I'm thinking about deleting this blog once and for all.
I don't have any readers and I've been bad at reading
and commenting in other blogs and I just can't stand
this new outfit.
Also I haven't done anything fun so there's nothing to
write about, it's been raining non stop for over seven
weeks!!!

I'm gonna give this blog a month or so before I make
my final decision.

Here's a few things I've made last week.
I want something cool to wear around my neck and
in my hair when we rocking our asses off in Spain in
June and so I came up with this.

LOVELY BARGAIN

I'm a bad girl, I totally forgot to blog about this lovely
bargain I made a few weeks back.
I won this baby blue 1960's hairdryer with matching
stand pink & cord on eBay for the tidy sum of £1.70!

YESTERDAY

Yesterday my man had a day off so we took a trip down
to the seaside, Hayling Island, to pick up a 1950’s glass
cabinet I won on eBay last week.


£18, eBay.

Afterwards we went to Chichester where I got two really
amazing dresses, one from the One Legged Jockey.
It was very sunny and warm and it was nice to get out of
the house and get some quality time together.
We also did something we haven’t done the 5 years and
three months we been together, we went to McDonalds!
LOL!

I don't really blog about vintage shops because most of
them don't want you to take pics, so what's the point?
One Legged Jockey in Chichester however really must
and deserve to be blogged about!
I've been to a lot of vintage shops all over Europe and
Scandinavia but no one made an impression quite like
this one. Amazing stock and really awesome staff and
they played some really good music too! :)
If you're ever down that way I promise they are well
worth a visit.

SUNDAY'S FINDS

Still haven't steamed my recent clothes finds but I hope
the finds from Sunday's flea market will do for now...


Tray, 25 pence.
We got way too many trays, glasses, mirrors and lamps but
that doesn't seem to stop us... *sigh*


Wall hanger, 50 pence.
Always useful and I love the Magnolia print!


Vanity case, £5.
Another thing I got plenty of but I do not have one in mock croc.

I plan to store my insane bangle collection in this one.


Clutch and coin purse, 50 pence for the set.
Not that I need more black clutches but I'm sure it will be useful
one day.


Plant/coffee/tea stand, £5.
This thing is an enigma to me, the seller said it was a tea stand
of some sort but I saw it more useful as a plant stand.
Have you ever seen this kind of thing before? Any info?


Tiny birdcage, 10 pence.
I've been wanting a little birdcage as a necklace for quite a long
time but haven't found one for a price I agree with, not until the
other day that is.
It didn't come with the link, I added that one myself.


Hair dryer, £1.
I don't know how many 1950's/1960's hair dryers I got by now
but I'm sure it's quite a few.
How can I not when it's only £1 and with it's original box?!

ME, RIGHT NOW

Yep, this is me, right now.
This seafoam/aqua green wig arrived today.
I prefer the pink one but a girl's gotta have options.

THE NEW ME?

No, not permanently but every now and then.
Got this wig last week and I love it!
Now I wonder why I didn't get one earlier.
I must confess, I actually asked my cousin's 14
year old daughter if I'm too old to get a pink wig
before I made the purchase! LOL!

The bone clip is my own creation.

NEW COATS

I'm one of those girls who need not just one but several of
warm and of course classic coats to hide in during autumn
and winter.
I got one in black, red and also one salt & pepper and now
these two that are my latest additions...

The white/green/navy one is my favorite of all my coats,
it was a bargain that I snagged while we were on vacation
in Sweden last month, it's a vintage 1960's, so damn nice.
It cost 25 Kr (ca £2.50) from the Red Cross charity shop.

The mustard coat has got a detachable hood.
I got this on eBay last week for £4.99.
I think it's from Primark's autumn collection from one or
two years ago, still, it's a timeless piece.

A REVAMP TUTORIAL

I think a step by step revamp tutorial is in order.
So I found this hair grip in a box of old junk at the
Friday market and I fell in love instantly.
I do have a lot of hair on my head and this grip is
way too narrow for me to wear so I came up with
this idea...


So here's the hair grip before.


Rusty spring, not so nice, this got to go!


And so must the teeth.


I used my little hobby pliers to do this, cut as far
down as you can.


Everything is cut off and sanded down so there's
no sharp edges. I used a semi fine sandpaper.
Don't forget to clean it afterwards.


Glue hair clips onto the back of the flower and
leave it to dry for a few hours.
I used a multi purpose glue.


Prepare two pieces of felt by cutting them to size
and glue with a glue stick on one side of the felt and
leave it to dry.
When the glue under the clips and the felt is dry
put the multi purpose glue all over the back of the
felt piece, over the area where you used glue stick,
open the clip up and place the felt pieces in between,
close the clip and leave to dry.


Done! That wasn't so hard now, was it?


Now it's up to you if you want to use one or two in
your hair.

You can also make this into a brooch, just add a pin
instead of a hair clip.
