Happy Passover/Easter!
As you know I don't like having my photo taken but
my hair looked good last night so I thought I give you
another ego picture.

RANSOM
So I wished for Bakelite as a ransom for the Afikoman on
Seder night. And Bakelite I got! Apple juice Bakelite with
glitter set on a stunning silver belt buckle.
Purchased in secret in Prague.
Not sure I want to keep it as a belt buckle (because it is
slightly incomplete) I’m thinking about maybe revamping
it into a pair of earrings. What do you think?

A LITTLE OUTING
We went to Letchworth and Hitchin today.
My favorite charity shops were closed but I still managed
to get my filthy paws on two really nice items.

I got one pair of Hilo Hattie pants in a charity shop for £7,
more than I would like to spend but the quality is really good
and it’s authentic Hawaiian and a really cool pattern so I just
couldn’t resist.
The other thing I got was this transparent plastic clutch and
matching coin purse from the 1950’s for only £6, from the
antique/vintage emporium, now that’s a bargain!

SPRING AROUND MY NECK
I've made some new cherry necklaces recently.
I used black chain and darker cherries compared to
the previous ones. It's nice to have options.
This is as close to spring as it gets around here. *brr*

LAST NIGHT
My handsome man and your truly last night at the Si Cranstoun
gig in central London.
Rocking the bumper bangs at the moment since my hair is way
too long for curls and I refuse to cut it, I'm a mermaid at heart.
Flowers overload is a must since spring is nowhere to be seen.

YUM!
I'm a sucker for kitsch and when I saw these nail polish
bottles I was in 7th heaven!
Of course I got me some! I wanted the blue but that one
was out of stock so I only got the yellow and the pink.
I haven't tried them yet but I can't wait to do so!

GOOD HAIR NIGHT
My kick ass cool diesel punk sunglasses arrived in the
post earlier in the day and I must say they looked ace
with my Blade Runner hairdo.
The dress was a gift from my friend Rebecca back in the
day, I revamped it from 1970's to 1940's back in 2010.
Hair flowers and the Bakelite ring are my own creations.
And a noir one, for the road.

REWARDED
I feel like I'm rewarded for being a woman today
on the
International Women's Day.
Why? Because I found two Bakelite spacer bangles dirt
cheap in one of the local charity shops! 20 pence each!
I might sound like a complete nutter to you but this made
me a bit more cheerful than I've been the last two weeks.
So ladies, more power to you, happy women's day!

CHANGES
Yours truly is in a pretty bad mood at the moment.
I got a craft ban because of bad neck and right shoulder.
It's been like this for over a week now and I've done all
I can to ease this pain. Yesterday it felt better but I must
have slept in a bad position because it's back.
I got itchy fingers and really need to create but I'm not
allowed to bend or strain my neck, so I've done the next
best thing, Photoshop.
Yesterday I changed the name of my Etsy shop and with
that I made new ads, cards and banners.
The hair flowers/clips and earrings that you see are all my
own creations.
I don't want to sound too smug but I love how they turned
out!
So what do you guy's and gal's think?

MORE BAKELITE
Even tho I’m not well I must say I’m a happy bunny today!
Who wouldn’t be when a stunning Bakelite bangle arrives?!
I snagged this 35 mm wide beauty last week on eBay (UK)
for £9.45, shipping was free. (= $14)

NICE SURPRISE
Had a super nice surprise the other night!
My man's 22 year old cousin from New York stayed with
us for a day and a half.
As she was helping her sister with some assignment over
the computer I opened one of my jewelry boxes where I
store my Bakelite and celluloid collection to admire them.
I took one spacer bangle out that I thought was glass, had
a look at it and realize that it might actually be Bakelite!
(I stored it in there because it was less likely to break than
if I kept it with my everyday bangles.)
I tested it with Simichrome and it tested positive!
I got this yellow marbled bangle in a junk shop in Prague
years ago, I remember I paid 30 pence for it! (45 US cents)
I must say that it's pretty darn nice when something you
thought was quite useless becomes a very nice addition
to your collection.
