A LA LANA

Almost a year ago I started revamping this 1970's
dress I got from a friend who was about to throw it
in the bin.
It's been laying around on my to do pile ever since.
Yesterday I decided to finally finish it!
I do like the fabric and the shape is perfect for my
short frame but the awful turtleneck was too tight
and unflattering since I've got a short neck.
I decided to go for keyhole a'la Lana Turner in the
movie The Postman Always Rings Twice.

The keyhole was a breeze to make but the rest of
the dress needed A LOT of mending.
I had to sew new seams all over and sew by hand
where the sewing machine couldn't go, I also had
to change the zipper.
It was worth it though.

I promise to take a picture of me wearing it pretty
soon because it looks rather dull just hanging there.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!

NOT BAD FOR 99 PENCE, HUH?

I won these on eBay the other day for 99 pence!!!
(11 kr/$1.60/€1.10)
They arrived this morning and I'm totally in love.
Not only were they brand new, they are also very
comfortable.

I forgot to bid on these twice!
I sent a message to the seller telling her I missed
the auction and asking if she would re-list them,
she replied that she'd given them to a charity shop.
I was heartbroken for a while but she must have
been thinking of the wrong pair of shoes because
one week lather they were re-listed and this time
I didn't miss them.

ALOHA!

Thank you for your kind words yesterday.
My man is alive and well, a bit sore (of course)
and frustrated that he's not allowed to use the
gym for six weeks but apart from that he's fine.

Four days ago I found this vintage matching
Hawaiian set on eBay.
I was too tired to stay up until 2 AM so I put in
a bid and hoped for the best, I was happy to find
out that I won it this morning.
£28 including shipping, not bad at all!
(324 kr/$46/€31)
Since I couldn't find anything for my mother in
law to buy me for my birthday I'm gonna ask her
for to pay for this set, it saves her a lot of money
and her baby boy gets a shirt.

It's a genuine Hawaiian set from the 1960's.
The dress looks a bit too long for my taste
so I might alter it slightly.

QUICK POST

I really don't have time to sit by the computer today,
my man is going to the hospital to have surgery and
I will be busy doing laundry, cleaning and praying
that he'll be alright.
I'm picking him up in the evening and I want him to
be able to rest without me disturbing him with noise
from the dryer and the vacuum cleaner in the next
few days.

Change of subject.
I found another pattern that I just couldn't resist.
It was rather cheap and the shipping cost was low so
I couldn't help myself.
There's now three pattern that should arrive shortly,
can't wait!

I also found this kick ass tutorial site that you have to
check out! It's called Cut Out + Keep and there's tons
of cool projects to try out.

HOW EXOTIC!

I won this dress last night for £22.50 incl. shipping.
(255 kr/$36/€25)
The seller claimed it's a 1950's dress, I would say it's
a 1950's style dress, probably made in the 1980's.
I don't really care, I just love the fabric, it's so fab.
I guess I have a thing for pineapples...

FIRST CREATION OF THE YEAR

First out this year is my sailor tie top.
I did some small alterations to the pattern I used for
the other tie tops and I'm actually very pleased with
the result.
What do you think?

If you're interested in any of my tie tops, please let me know and I
will list them on Etsy. They are all a size small/medium.

PICTURES FROM ACE CAFE

My friend Horst Friedrichs sent me some photos
that he took of me back in August on hot rod night
at Ace Cafe in London.
I really don't like being photographed, I feel so
uncomfortable because I know I'm gonna look like
a butterball!
(Thank you very much ass bag bully's from school!)
