CREATIVE DAY

I had a really creative day yesterday.
I ordered some craft bits for a future project that I really
can't wait to start working on.
I also made two fascinator hats, some hair flowers for me
and revamped some old junk that has been laying around
for too long.

Like this thing...

It used to be a candle garland or whatever you call these
things. This one is from the 50's/60's, back then plastic
was very popular, nowadays is all silk flowers. Yuk!
Anyway, this one was the only one of it's kind and not in
a very good state as you can see here.
So I cut a bit off and then I stitched a pin onto the back
and got myself a unique and rather lovely brooch.

And this...

This was actually a 1950's bracelet my man gave me
four years ago. It was way too big for me and it's been
collecting dust ever since.
So I attached a thin chain and a clasp and hey presto,
I got myself a necklace.

And here's the fascinator hats...




And these arrived with the snail mail...

eBay find, celluloid type bangles, all four for 99 pence.

They kind of reminds me of Dita's bangles in this ad:

YESTERDAY'S FINDS

I got pretty lucky on my little hunt today.
One of the charity shops was jammed packed with
some weird people with too many bags and without
any manners or apologetic skills whatsoever.
I was about to leave because I get all nauseous and
a bit panicky when it get crowded but I went back in
again when I saw this beautiful vintage umbrella.
It was worth a few knocks and some pushing.

It also got a golden ring that hold it together when it's not in use.


It's never been used, still got the original tag.

I think this print is really nice.
The color of the shirt is not too loud, which is nice for a change.
Luckily it fit my man. I love buying him stuff but it's always tricky
since he's so picky. (Sorry for the rime, that wasn't intentional.)

NEW FASCINATOR HATS

Even though my body isn't feeling well I'm glad
to say that I at least feel much better in spirit.
I dyed my hair this morning, that always boost
my self confidence and now I'm gonna walk into
town to post packages and have a little browse
in the usual shops.

Last night I felt relaxed enough to start working
on some fascinator hats, it all went well and they
all turned out much better than I expected.

There's a spring sale going on in my shop!
The sale started today and I offer 2 - 10 dollars off on
selected items.
I also added a few new items yesterday.

PRODUCTIVE

Woke up at 11:55 today, I never ever sleep that late!
Feels like the entire day is gone.
I hate to say I'm not getting any better, I'm now on
my second week of this chest infection thing.
I finished my dose of penicillin last night so I should
be feeling OK by now.
I've done nothing but trying to boost the system with
hot drinks, loads of vitamin C, honey and Echinacea.
Right now I'm also anemic.
Luckily I can do things from my bed! The person who
invented the laptop is my hero right now. :D
I'm happy to say that I've been quite productive so far
today. I contacted people about vintage fairs, packed
a few items that need to be sent, did a bit of tidying in
my hobby room and made a few hat designs that I'm
gonna start working on as soon as I've listed a bunch
of new items in my shop.


I got a thing for Swedish skorpor (crisp rolls) right now.
Preferably with cheddar or organic honey.
(Did you know that honey is good for your health?)

WHIMSICAL DISPLAY

I felt bad that this beautiful 1950's three tier cake stand
were just sitting there in one of the cupboards, since we
don't eat much baked goods.
So I turned it into a jewelry display for my vanity table.
A bit whimsical perhaps but that's just me...

CLIMBING THE WALLS

This is pretty much my view right now.
A pint of fizzy cherry, penicillin and Sopranos.

Yesterday I was climbing the walls, I needed to get out
of the house and do something, add PMS on top of that.
If you're a man you know that the only thing to do is to
please your woman. HA HA HA! My man did it the best
way he know how, he took me out for lunch and a little
charity shop scout. I so needed that.
Today I'm back in bed, but it was worth it.

This is what I got:

Not vintage but it's still very nice with silver stars and glitter.
Perfect buddy for my dreamy star dress.

Perfect basic summer wear.


Pretty vintage style bag.
I'm not gonna mention the price since I decided not to keep it for
myself, I just needed to blog about it because it's so pretty and
it will be listed in my shop soon.
