YESTERDAY

Yesterday was the second day of Passover so we took the
day off from work and gym and cooking.
I was in a rather bad mood, a bit overtired and achy and
not really up for anything so my man decided to take me
out on a little vintage scout to cheer me up and "celebrate"
52 months together. Yes, he's that kind of guy. :)

This is what I got...

Love these! I have a necklace I bought in Prague two years
ago that will match these perfectly.

PRETTY DARN PLEASED

Oy vey! I'm way behind on blog posts.
I've had some really awesome and very busy days
due to friends and mother in law staying over and
last night was Seder night with a lot of preparation
and cooking.
I'm gonna do my best and try and catch up. :)

I've been looking for a nice 1950's style wig for a while
but they are all so cheesy, this one looks very stylish on
and Dolly is happy with it as well. :)

Remember this ugly ass jacket I bought last week?
I've now revamped it into a bolero. I'm pretty darn
pleased with the result if I'm allowed to say so.

I'm gonna be honest, and I'm a bit ashamed to say this,
I actually prefer to have some crappy TV program on,
like The Real Housewives of ..., in the background if I
create hats and I like to do that in the bed. Comfy. :)
If I sew in my hobby room I play The Andrew Sisters
or The Skatalites, for some reason these artist works
best for me at that point.

I'm not sure if I got a favorite outfit really. I got a lot
of nice clothes so it's hard to choose one, I guess it all
depends on my mood. I knooow, boring answer. :))

I will, it's nothing special about it really, it's a place
where we work on restoring 1950's/1960's furniture
and such. We want to turn it into a recording studio
but that's just on the dream stage at this point.
My storage situation is a nightmare, I got too much
stuff so I require 1 wardrobe and two step in closets.
We're actually looking into having the loft converted
into a storage space so I can store stuff other than my
clothes, shoes and bags, that will help out a lot.

I'm actually never on a budget, I'm just very sensible
and I just like the challenge of getting stuff dirt cheap. :))
Honestly, I do like car boot sales where you can get an
entire outfit (including bag and shoes) for under £5.
I've stopped buying stuff from proper shops and I'm
proud to say I haven't bought a single brand new item
so far this year. I think Etsy and eBay are great places
to blow a budget, a lot of sellers are taking the piss.

What is your favorite holiday and why?

Dear Amanda Awesome,
I'm not sure if you mean holiday as religious holiday or
vacation so I answer both. :P
My favorite religious holiday is Rosh Hashanah, which is
the Jewish new year.
Not that I am very religious but it feels good to know that
I can start all over twice a year since I celebrate both new
years.
My favorite place to go on holiday/vacation is Sweden.
Might sound lame since that's where I grew up but to be
honest, there's nothing as beautiful as a Swedish summer.
And we get spoilt rotten by my aunt and she's an amazing
cook so that's really the icing on the cake. :))

I got a hobby room for my craft so the cabin/studio is
where I revamp and restore 1950's/1960's furniture and
such. I'm about to get my hands dirty with a table and I
gladly do a step by step post about that.

high heels my feet do require flats in between. I do however

GOLD DIGGER

I got this with the snail mail yesterday and I thought I
save it for today's blog post, to give this blog some well
needed glamor.
I was so happy that I won the bidding of the gold 1950's
swim suit, I grabbed a real bargain! I've seen similar go
for $250-500. Nuts!

It suits me perfectly, I just need more of a tan going on.
I know this might sound cheesy but I must confess that
it feels pretty cool to own something similar to what my
favorite blond of all times, Jayne Mansfield wore back in
the days. :))

FINDS AND A REVAMP PROJECT

I really kicked ass in the gym today, I was all alone and
felt very focused.
On my way home I stopped by the haberdasher and my
favorite charity shop.
This is what I got...


1960's Teak tray, 50 pence.
You must think this is boring but...


this makes all the difference! Danish teak.
I love Danish Modern.


Sunglasses, £1.
Timeless classics. Now me and my man match.


Ugly ass jacket, £2.
Yeah, what the heck?! Calm down, I'm not going to use this as
it is or as a tacky nurse uniform. This is a revamp project.
I've been looking all over for a similar bolero as the one Dita is
wearing in the Cointreau ad. But since I'm only 158 cm short
those sleeves would make me look square and even shorter so
I given up on even go there.
This future bolero will suit my body shape much better but still
be rather classy.


I'm not going there...

When I got home I found these big beautiful persimmon
colored roses standing on the kitchen table.
They were from my man, as a thanks for helping him out
with the studio.

CAR BOOT SALE FINDS

I didn't have a lamp so I did the next best thing, I hang it on the
curtain rail. I used natural string.


Vintage top, 25 pence.
1980's does 1950's, perfect to revamp.


Vintage skirt, 25 pence.
1980's does 1950's, perfect for casual summer wear.


Shorts, 50 pence.
These shorts are Topshop and I love the sailor buttoning.


Vintage vase, 75 pence.
As soon as I saw it I knew I was gonna put it on my beside table
to keep my pale pink Orchids in.
I'm trying to make the bedroom even more feminine and sexy.

FINISHED PROJECTS

Hi from a busy bee!
I'm currently trying to finish some projects, my hobby
room is way too stuffed at the moment, which is really
bugging me.

I'm glad to show you two easy revamp projects that I
now finished.

I start with the one minute revamp.
I bought this bag for £1 at my first ever car boot sale.
I've seen a few like this one online from time to time so
I knew that there once been cherries on top of it, today
I attached the cherries Clare sent me a few weeks ago.
I attached it with fishing line.


This is what it once looked like.

This one took me a bit longer because I had to ask my
dear man to help me with the electric stuff.
I got this one on my birthday from mother in law.
The lamp base was pretty mucky and a bit rusty so I
cleaned it and then had a go with the sandpaper.
It got a fresh coat of black satin spray paint and I also
added a gold tassel for the burlesque feeling. :)
