YESTERDAYS FINDS

Had an outing yesterday.
I really needed to get out of the house for the day,
get the caged bird feeling sometimes.
Scouted some charity shops in Camden and north
London.
Snagged some real neat stuff and did a total spend
of £11.25.

Oh yeah, found the biggest piss take of all times in
one of the Norwood charity shops, there was a real
leopard fur coat that they wanted £800 for!!!
The other furs was marked from £325.
Well, kudos for trying, huh? ;))

Cute 1940's style sun top, £1. (11 Kr, $1.60, €1.15)

1960's play suit, £2.75. (29 Kr, $4.45, €3.15)
I wanted to jump for joy when I saw this one, it's so my style.
Best of all was the fantastic price.
There was another price tag on it, guess it was from a vintage
shop, where the price was £27.99.

1970's jumpsuit, £6. (64 Kr, $1.60, €7)
I love that there's no zipper, instead you tie it in the back.

3 1950's/1960's hangers, £1.50. (16 Kr, $2.40, €1.70)

HELP!

I need some advice, please.
I've gone through my drawers and I found these fabrics
that I got some years ago that I totally forgot that I had.
Anyway, the red fabric will look too old on me if I make a
blouse or a skirt out of it so I decided to make a play suit,
I got very inspired by this picture of Dita.
Do you think it would work?

I also got this whimsical fabric at the same time and I'm
thinking of making a play suit out of this one as well.
The colors goes perfectly with this hat I got a while back.

So, what do you think?
I know I'm a bit out of season but I plan to do a lot of
sewing this winter.

MAD MEN

Sorry for being such a boring blogger.
I'm ill so I haven't had much to blog about and I've
been busy listing a lot of stuff in my Etsy shop.

Yesterday I had a little photo shoot with my man.
I have a whole bunch of original 1950's ties I want
to get rid of so who's better (and prettier) than my
man to model them? :)
I went for a Mad Men inspired shoot and it turned
out pretty cool if I say so myself.
My camera is crap but I did the best I could with
what I got.

If you want to see all the pictures from the shoot
just visit my Etsy shop.

RECENTLY REVAMPED

This is what I made out of a plastic 1960's/1970's
candle holder garland. Yup, it's earrings. :)

Oh, and I got a sale going on in my Etsy shop at the
moment, most items has been reduced by $2-$8.
And 11 new items are now added.

MY WEEKEND

So what have I've been up to lately?
Well, Friday was a day out in Camden with my man,
we went for lunch and scouting charity shops.
On the way home we stopped by IKEA.

The rest of the weekend was pretty much spent by
the sewing machine, the oven and on the sofa.

I also managed to salvage this beautiful embroidered
1950's dress with matching bolero that's been hiding
in one of my bags of vintage fabrics.
I got it 8 years ago and the dry cleaners in Stockholm
said it was unsalvageable, (it pretty much looked like
some one's been pissing all over it) so it's been in this
bag ever since and I forgot all about it.
Since they all said it's ruined I thought I give it a go,
so I sprayed it with Vanish, turned it inside out and
put it in a laundry bag and washed it in the machine,
turned out to be back in it's former glory.
I just need to shorten it and take it in slightly. :)
(Pictures will be posted when I'm done.)

Anyway, here's what I got in Camden:

Knitted fox scarf, £3.
It had the original tags left and it was purchased in a posh
store in Japan.
The price tag said 5000 Yen, which is £40.

Hello bargain!

Top, £1.
This thing was too good to miss! It needed a wash and a go
with the lint remover.
It will look perfect with these shoes and a red pencil skirt!

Brand new gingham dress, £3.50.
Colorful dress, £2.
The yellow dress need a revamp and a belt.
I hate the blue and brown ribbon. Yuk!

And here's what I've been making lately:

Finished this yesterday. It used to be a little girls dress
that I got at a car boot sale, I was meant to make a skirt
out of it but I noticed some stains that didn't disappear
in the wash so I decided to make an apron instead.
I love the pocket I made.

I had a sort out in my drawers in the hobby room and
I found these, half finished, I started working on these
over two years ago(!), so I finished them last week.

Here's another thing I found and finished last week.
I started working on it at the same period of time as
the pasties. I still don't know why I didn't finish these
two projects a long time ago...
This one looks fabulous on by the way.

FRINGE

It's been bugging me for almost four years now
how boring this lamp really is.
It's been screaming for a revamp for a long time
but I have put it out of my mind, until today.
I don't want to get too personal here but we got
this cheap thing at IKEA, for the naughty times,
(you look flawless in red light by the way) but
the lamp itself was way too plain for my taste
and today I found some black fringe in one of
my craft boxes, I thought to myself that this is
exactly what the lamp need!
It's still a rather boring lamp since it's plastic
and modern but it now blends in better in my
boudoir and the red light is really a spice. :)

ANOTHER POST ABOUT SHOES

Yes, another post about shoes.
Treated myself to these two yesterday and I
can't wait to slip these on!
They were new dead stock and I snagged the
last ones. £11 for each pair!
I love the heel, it's so neat, like pillars.
