DEREK YANIGER

I'm a fan of the very talented artist Derek Yaniger.
I would like to recommend his book Wildsville.
Wildsville is full of really cool retro illustrations,
it really is a book that should be in every true
retromaniacs bookcase.

Visit his website!

I MAKE MY OWN CEREAL

I had cravings for cereals the other day, I mostly eat oatmeal
in the morning, I had a look at the ingredients on a packet of
crunchy cereals at the supermarket and all I see is sugar, sugar
and more sugar. The price wasn't very appealing either.

So I decided to make my own cereals like I did when I was
living on the minimum in Stockholm.

You'll need:
3 tablespoons of honey
2,5 deciliter (1 cup) of oats
A hand full of whatever you like, for example: pecan nuts,
coconut flakes, dried fruit, almonds...
You can also add some seeds like sesame seeds or line seeds
if you desire, it's very good for the digestion.

Take the honey, put it in a heated pan, low heat, then add the
oats and the stuff of your choice.
Stir it all together on low heat for a minute or two, make sure
the oats mixes well with the honey.
Let it cool off, serve with yoghurt.
Enjoy!

(This mix will last you for a couple of breakfasts so store in a
plastic container in the fridge.)

I used pecan nuts and line seeds.

SWEET AS CHERRIES

I found sweet flip flops with cherries at Primarkfor £1.50/pair.
Perfect for the rockabilly festivals at the beach!
(See Rock&Roll Holidays and High Rock-A-Billy.)

A LITTLE BIT BRIGHTER

I feel a little bit brighter today so I have just finished
packing everything that needs to be sent and I'm on my
way to get dressed and have a walk into town center to
post the stuff and to buy some essentials like vacuum
cleaner bags and hair clips and have a quick look at
Primark to see what's new.
The sun is shining and that makes everything a little bit
easier too.

BAD WEEK

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I have had a bad week.
Went to the emergency last Saturday after fainting, again,
and since then I've been asleep most of the time.
My new medication had really knocked me out.
I'm sorry for the ranting about my illness, I want nothing
more that to get back to my normal bubbly self.

I need to take a break away from auctions, I'm too ill to be
doing it right now and I hate to be a bad seller with all the
delays.

My man gave me this bag yesterday.
I'm nuts about wicker bags and the red straps makes it a
bit unusual and best of all, it goes with almost everything
in my closet. (I got a lot of red items.)

The inside.

IF I LIVED HERE I'D BE HOME NOW

My man wanted to cheer me up today so he took me
to Hampstead Garden Suburbs to drool over the Art
Deco houses around there.

This is my favorite house on Brim Hill.

Another favorite, this one on Lytton Close.

I'M TOO KITSCHY FOR MY LOVE

I got 28(!) packages to send today.
I'm not looking forward to stand in an endless
line at the post office and write 28 proof of
postage slips but I do look forward to get rid
off a lot of stuff I no longer desire.

This is my latest eBay find.
It's a lamp! The skirt is the actual lamp shade.
My man wasn't too sure about my find. *smirk*

£16.

DO IT IF YOU WANT TO

I'm so ill I don't know what to do with myself.
I've been in bed most of the day but I couldn't
manage to sleep or relax because my head was
hurting to the extreme.
Went to my GP this afternoon and got a new
medication and a referral to see a neurologist.
I'm very frustrated because I hate to feel weak.
My man is taking very good care of me though.

A while ago, the lovely Mrs Munster challenged
me with the 4 of 4 challenge.

1. OPEN FOURTH FILE OF PHOTOS ON YOUR COMPUTER
2. CHOOSE FOURTH PHOTO OF THE FILE AND ADD IT IN
YOUR BLOG ENTRY
3. TELL THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO
4. TAG 4 OTHER BLOGGERS TO THE CHALLENGE

I found this photo in my man's folder, where he
has got tons of pictures of me that he begged for
before we met.
This photo was taken back in 2004, while I was
still living in Stockholm in what will always be
my favorite home to me, before a certain reality
TV persona came along, enough said.
I took the picture while getting ready to meet up
with my friend Missy.
I remember that we had a fun day.

I won't tag 4 bloggers of my choice, I tag anyone
who wants to do this too.

Top: Vintage, 20 kr at a rockabilly event.
Glasses: Vintage, 60 kr at a flea market.

MY LATEST CREATIONS

I made chunky apple sauce with cinnamon today to
have with my porridge, it was easier than I thought
it would be. Yummy as well.

I'm not up for doing much right now.
I made these two charm bracelets while talking on
the phone with the lovely Miss Wink.

If there's any interest I will put them up on eBay,
let me know, please.

WE STAYED IN

We didn't do much on Valentines day, I was too ill to
really go anywhere, so we stayed home and cuddled.

My man made dinner and I found this on my plate:

I got a beautiful pair of earrings with my favorites,
Garnet and Marcasites.

A better picture here.

Here's two of my latest creations.

I made this pin some weeks ago but forgot all about it.

I finished this bracelet yesterday, isn't it cute?
These might be for sale on eBay soon if there's any interest.

TONS OF HUGS ON VALENTINES!

HURRAH!

I had a look at the Kashrut yesterday and found out
that Moose is kosher to eat!
Superb! I'm a vegetarian but the only meat I like and
would put in my mouth is Moose because they are free
to eat what they want and roam around wherever they
fancy.
Before you judge, Moose isn't breed to be stand in the
barn waiting to be killed, that's cruel, you have to
decrease a number of Moose every year, otherwise the
woods will be full of them and there will be less for the
animals to eat.
We're going to Sweden for a week to see my dad and
stepmother so I will make sure that there will be some
Moose meatballs on the dinner table.
(My oldest stepbrother is a hunter so there's plenty.)
I guess these news will be good ones for my stepmom
because she thinks it's so hard to cook vegetarian.
My man think it's rather exotic, he's never had Moose
before and he's never seen one.
England is a Moose-free country.

BAD

I'm getting worse.
My man suspect that I have Meningitis.
The medication doesn't work at all and it feels like
my brain are swelling over inside my skull, which
is causing me the worst headache I had so far.
My man wants to take me to the hospital but they
will say that I have to talk to my GP and that they
can't help me after waiting for five hours or so.
No thanks.

My man is the best, he's really looks after me.
He's a bit frustrated that I feel so ill and that he
can't do anything to make me feel better.
No matter what, he makes me feel like a princess,
yesterday we went to our favorite restaurant and
he gave me these two books.

By the way, I hope you like my new banner.

MORE NEW EARRINGS

Today is painting day!
Since I still have Labyrinthitis I will start with just
one part of the room today.

I made some new earrings the other day.
Right now I'm waiting for a huge batch of cute silver
charms to make even more lovely things.

My new favorite are these revolver earrings.

I also made these earrings to match this bracelet.

DOLL IT UP!

Yesterday we went on a day trip to look in charity shops
and to go and get a Ladderax record cabinet that we won
on eBay and to get another Ladderax unit that we got for
free from Freecycle.

We didn't find much in the charity shops, just a pair of
lovely earrings and some sheer gloves from the 1950's.

Earrings, 50 pence.

We're busy planning for the house makeover that's gonna
happen as soon as it's warmer outside.
The walls are gonna get a fresh coat of white paint the whole
house through and the coving and the skirting boards in the
lounge will be painted black to match our furniture and make
it look more sophisticated.
And yes, there will be before and after pictures.

LOVE IS IN THE EAR

Made these earrings today.
The charms are vintage and very cute.

I added 20 new auctions on Tradera today and you
can bid on these earrings there if you fancy them.

LET'S GET PLASTERED!

The house is a complete mess today but for a very good
reason - we're having most of the walls plastered to get
rid of the horrible Artex that makes the house look dated
and a bit psychedelic if you ask me.
Our walls looks like this! Would you be able to cope?

I GONNA LET MY FREAK FLAG FLY

I've started to listen through my record collection lately.
Today I'm playing Caesars Palace - Love for the streets,
and I start to wish for a warm summer afternoon in a
green leafy park in Stockholm with good company, food
and alcohol.

I'm gonna let my freak flag fly
I've been a fool for lifetime
But today I'll be the king

MY LATEST CREATIONS

GIRL AFRAID

My man is out grocery shopping so I have some me-time.
I'm grooming myself and listen to The Smiths, which made
me think of myself back in the days. Not good...
I don't know if I should feel sorry for the girl I used to be
or feel sick over the ways she acted and hope she never
end up like that ever again.
The girl that I used to be had no control over herself and
couldn't help being hurtful and destructive towards others
and herself.
The girl was afraid and didn't want to be alive, I wear the
ugly scars as a constant reminder of that...

The hell I went through has proven to be rewarding.
The man of my dreams found me and never gave up on me,
he encouraged me not to look back but to look forwards,
He supports me in everything I do but tell me what I can
do better and he keep me on a realistic level.

I'm turning 30 this year and that will be the end of a very
destructive decade for me, even though I haven't hurt
myself in a very long time, and I'm really looking forward
to a better future, a better future as myself.

PANIC IN THE STREETS OF LONDON...

The entire UK is in panic over 20 cm of snow!
It hasn't been this bad for 18 years.
Most of the schools are closed and people are
running super late or stay at home.
Almost the entire London traffic was out of
service yesterday morning and there was a 80
km queue on M25!
What the f**k is the matter with this country?!
I think it's insane that everything has stopped
because of a tiny bit of snow, what would they do
if it snowed as much as in the north of Sweden?
I can't stop laughing!
