I'm a fan of the very talented artist Derek Yaniger. I would like to recommend his book Wildsville. Wildsville is full of really cool retro illustrations, it really is a book that should be in every true retromaniacs bookcase.
His style reminds me of the intro to "Pink Panther" with Peter Sellers. You know? The cartoon-intro. Perhaps its him, or perhaps I've seen his work somewhere else.
Very very cool. I am right into illustrated books at the moment, and just posted yesterday on a fabulous book I picked up for my daughter. Also, I can now be found at www.superkawaiimama.com If you could update any links it would be greatly appreciated.
FYI - Derek is a friend of mine and did the illustrations for one of my husbands cd's, as well as his movie, Camp Burlesque. You can see the lithograph of the CD cover on Derek's site. It's The Martini Kings!

Oh I love his art!
That picture is one of my favourites. For some reason I think that would be a cute tattoo.
He is amazing. :)
Yeah, but it might be too much details though...
Lovely picture! Now I have to check out his website!
I recognize the "style" of his pictures, perhaps I've seen it before?
